Straight answers to what people actually ask before booking — no jargon, no overselling.
Our Essential Flush starts at £445 for up to 10 radiators, and £645 for the Protected Flush which adds a magnetic filter and 12-month inhibitor check. Extra radiators are £35 each. Complete System Care (with new valves throughout) is quoted after inspection, since the work varies a lot property to property.
Most domestic power flushes take a full day, depending on the number of radiators and how badly the system is sludged up. We connect at the boiler's flow and return, work the system with heat and the correct chemical dwell time, then balance and verify every radiator before we leave.
A magnetic filter protects a clean system going forward, but it can't remove sludge that's already built up inside the pipes and radiators. If you're seeing cold spots, a noisy boiler, or black water when bleeding a radiator, that's existing sludge that needs a flush first — the filter is what keeps it from coming back.
No. A chemical flush circulates a cleaning chemical through the system at normal pressure. A power flush uses a dedicated pump to move water and chemical at much higher flow, which shifts sludge that a standard chemical flush can't. For heavily sludged older systems, a power flush is usually what's actually needed.
It's a real risk worth naming honestly: power flushing uses higher flow than the system normally sees, and on very old or already-corroded pipework, that can occasionally reveal or worsen a weak joint that was already failing. That's exactly why we do a proper diagnostic assessment before starting — checking system condition and circulation first — rather than just connecting up and going.
Yes. If your system doesn't need a full flush yet, we can supply and fit a magnetic filter on its own. If there's already sludge in the system, we'll usually recommend a flush first so the filter isn't immediately catching a backlog of debris.

You don't need to be present for the whole job, but we do need access to the boiler and every radiator, plus a water supply and drainage point (usually an outside tap or a bath/sink). We'll confirm exactly what's needed when we quote.
You answer a few questions about your system and send a couple of photos — the boiler and surrounding pipework, a typical radiator with its valves, and the filter if one's fitted. We review it and come back with an itemised quote, usually the same day. Any quote from photos is confirmed on site before work starts.
Yes. Every flush comes with a written service report covering the diagnostics, water test results before and after, and radiator-by-radiator temperature verification. If a magnetic filter is fitted, we also complete a boiler log card, which matters if you ever need to make a warranty claim.
